 Missing Kylie single cuts deep

Missing Kylie single cuts deep

28/08/2008 11:00:00 AM
MANY a man's heart would have broken over Kylie Minogue and Devonport man Shane King is nursing one of them.

"I love everything about her," he told The Advocate.

His story is not one of eyes across a crowded dance floor however.

Rather, the 30-year-old with a mild intellectual problem is cut up that All I See - a track from the diva's latest album - does not look like being released in Australia.

Mr King has been unable to get it through a local store and believes it is only being released as a promo CD (for radio station use) in the US.

Adding to his misery is the fact the US promo is going for $85 on eBay, which he says is disgusting.

"That's a rip-off."

He also believes it is unfair Australian fans will miss out.

"I'm not dissing Kylie, it's not her fault.

"I just want people to know it's not fair."

He said he wished the single was available through Kylie's website.

He said Kylie was his inspiration and had been since he was a youngster jumping around to the vinyl single of I Should Be So Lucky, which came out in 1987.

He said her songs helped him when he was "a bit down".

"I put it on, have a bit of a sing and imagine I'm out there with her.

"She's an inspiration to a lot of people."

He said he cried his eyes out when the singer was having her battle with breast cancer and getting to say hello to her would be one of his greatest dreams.

"I would say to Kylie Minogue I love her very much as a fan.

"I'd be over the moon if I could just say hello."

The Advocate will do its best to help Mr King.

We emailed him the address of a UK-based store that may be able to help find the promo at a reasonable price and we've also sent an email to Kylie's "people" to see if anything can be done to help Mr King.

We'll let you know how we get on.
